Joe, one of Tom Towler's closest school friends, took on Ironman Texas — with no prior triathlon experience — to launch the Tom Towler EBV-HLH Charity in Tom's memory. Tom died aged 21 from EBV-HLH, a rare complication of glandular fever that went undiagnosed until too late. All fund raised are going to EBV-HLH research at the University of Birmingham.
